The Department of Home Science have a designated and fully functional Science Laboratory at Vikramshila Building of the College. It is a well-equipped facility designed to accommodate approximately 20-25 students at a time. This lab serves as a dedicated space for conducting practical sessions in various scientific disciplines, including food science, food analysis, physical sciences, chemical science, life sciences etc.

The laboratory is thoughtfully designed with excellent ventilation to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for students and faculty. It features a built-in gas pipeline along with gas burner, a reliable water supply, ample storage space and a separate storage facility specifically designated for hazardous chemicals, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed. Moreover, the lab include a spacious demonstration table for instructors, an electronic screen for multimedia presentations and a traditional classroom board for interactive teaching. These facilities support both theoretical explanations and hands-on demonstrations during lab sessions.

Presently, the lab is equipped with various advanced and basic instruments such as Precision weighing balance, Soxhlet apparatus, Kjeldahl apparatus, Water Milli-Q system, Autoclave, Muffle furnace, Moisture meter, pH meter, Microscopes, Vernier calipers, screw gauges etc. Additionally, the lab is also equipped with required glassware, plasticware and chemicals. It reflects the Department of Home Science's commitment to fostering a robust and practical learning environment.
