Faculty

Professor (Dr.) Sabrina Sareen has over 23 years of teaching experience in Fabric and Apparel Science, Delhi University. She attained Top Positions in Delhi University both in BSc. (Home Science) and M.Sc (Textiles & Clothing) and was awarded National Merit Scholarship by Delhi University for her meritorious performance. She is a President Awardee for maintaining Full Attendance for 13 Years, which also finds a mention in the Limca Book of Records. Her experience includes teaching at both Under Graduate as well as Post Graduate Levels at Lakshmibai College and Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. She has also worked as Guest Faculty at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi and as a Senior Lecturer at Amity University, Noida. Her areas of interest include Knitwear Industry, Sustainable Fashion & Natural Dyes. She is the recipient of International Education Excellence Award for her contributions to teaching and research. Her research work in Natural Dyes earned her the Best Project Award at Alps Industry, Ghaziabad. Prof. Sareen is actively involved in student projects, including Red Dot Project-Best Practice of Lakshmibai College. The project focussed on sustainable practices that empower and emancipate women. She has authored numerous research articles published in SCOPUS and refereed journals.

Her recent achievements include release of 2 books namely-Apparel Design & Construction: Introduction to Garment Components, and Apparel Design & Construction: Sewing Tools & Techniques. Besides several publications to her credit, Prof. Sareen is a member of many committees at the University level like Board of Research Studies, Committee of Courses, Convenor for Syllabus Framing for erstwhile Semester Scheme, FYUP and UGCF -NEP. She has also framed the syllabus for Diploma in Fashion Design at IGNOU.

Professor Sareen has organized several International/National Seminars and Workshops on Textile Crafts, Weaving, Tie and Dye techniques & Effective Dressing Skills in the college. She has undertaken numerous innovative student-engagement initiatives such as Wall Graffiti and Fashion Shows at the University and College level.

She has closely worked with International Labour Organisation(ILO) on apparel related projects, International Abilympics, and has successfully managed industrial training as well as final placements of students of Apparel in reputed Export Houses and  Buying Houses. Some of her students today are successful Apparel Entrepreneurs, Fashion Designers, Professional Models, Assistant Professors in Universities etc.
