WomenDevelopment Cell, Lakshmibai Collegehas been proactively involved in organizing various events like health check up camp, poster making, debates, screening of movies, nukkadnataks, workshops, seminars on Gender centric concerns. 
Asmita, a Delhi based renowned Theatre group,performed it’s street play ‘Dastak’ on various forms of violence,in the College, on the invite of the Committee. 

The two dayfest ‘Womania’ from March10-11, 2014, organized to mark International Women’s Day, was very well attended by not only our own students but also students from other colleges of Delhi University. The Workshop on, ‘Resisting Repressive Practices: Socio Legal Perspective,conducted by NandiniRao, a feminist activist based in Delhi, also saw enthusiastic  participation from the students.

The UGC sponsored State Seminar on “Engendering State and Society in India: Inquiries from a Feminist Perspective”organized in August, 2014 by the Committee was the first in the series of seminars in the Golden Jubilee year of the college. 

The screening of UNDP documentary entitled ‘Dance with their hands held tight’ was followed by an enchanting discussion with Prof. Madhulika Banerjee from the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi.

The Symposium on ‘Gender Constraints at Workplace: Ramifications and Redressal’ in  January, 2016, organized by the committee in association with Internal Complaints Committee, had Ms. AnjuPandey, Programme Specialist, UN Women and Dr. Ritu Gupta, Associate Professor, National Law University, Dwarka, educating our students and the Faculty members on the subject. And the zeal to take up the cause of women continues…….
