An alumnus of Lady Irwin College and PhD from University of Delhi, Dr Anita Malhotra is presently Professor at Lakshmibai College with nearly 37 years of teaching experience. She has received international  training in nutrition research methods, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition programmes, adolescent health and obesity management . She is recognised as PhD supervisor by Board of Research Studies (Science) University  of Delhi and has guided 7 MSc and 3 PhD thesis and is guiding 5 more PhD scholars. She has been Principal Investigator of research projects funded by UGC, DU and co-PI in projects funded by ICMR and DST-SEED. Her areas of interest include non-communicable disease (obesity, NAFLD), HIV/AIDS, celiac disease, adolescent, maternal and child nutrition, food safety, and evaluation of nutrition programmes.  She has participated in more than 60 conferences and presented papers at national/international level (USA, UK, Canada, Japan, China, Spain, Ireland, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka). She has more than 35  publications in Pubmed and Scopus indexed journals along with many awards and honours to her credit. she is peer reviewer for many journals published by Wiley and Elsevier.  Dr Malhotra  was awarded educational scholarship from The Howard Foundation UK, and Developing Country scholarship by International Union of Food Science and Technology, Canada. She is a life member of many professional bodies  and holds many important positions at state and national level. She was appointed  as domain expert by Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration for spot study of a nomination for the 'Prime Minister Awards for Excellence in Public Administration' 2014. She was awarded the Meritorious College Teacher Award by Directorate of Education, GNCTD, 2016. She is nominated as an expert at DoE and MoWCD at the state level, GNCTD and as a member of National Policy Groups constituted by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India for review/analysis of Comprehensive National Nutrition Survey (CNNS). Dr Malhotra has also been a member of  two scientific panels of FSSAI on Cereals and Spices at the national level (2019-2022). Recently, she  was awarded by Wiley as Author of a Top Cited Paper (on the basis of Clarivate Analytics of work published between Jan 2021-Dec 22) in journal ‘Obesity Reviews’ with  Impact factor of 10.8.
