Career Profile

Prof (Dr) Ambuja Kumar Tripathy is a Professor in Political Science Department, Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi since 2023. He joined Lakshmibai College as Assistant Professor in 2010. Prior to this, he had teaching experience at Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi from 2006 to 2010. 

He also has worked as Assistant Professor at Centre for Political Institutions, Governance and Development (CPIGD), Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore (on lien from Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi).   During his term at ISEC, he organized seminars, carried out research projects, wrote working papers for externally reviewed ISEC WP series, reviewed research papers for ISEC journal from Springer, contributed in ISEC's conferences/training programs, taught PhD scholars and supervised interns. After coming back from Bangalore in 2020, he worked as Associate Professor (2020-23) and became Professor of Political Science (2023).

Areas of Interest / Specialization

He worked on contemporary debates on nation state in his MPhil dissertation and on development discourse with a special focus on civil society actors in his PhD thesis at Department of Political Science, University of Delhi. His interest areas are development politics, civil society and citizenship studies.
