Career Profile

Has been teaching for more than a decade.

she has contributed to the academic and cultural life of the college and the Department, in particular. 

Committed towards exploring newer and innovative pedagogical tools to make classroom teaching- learning process dialogic and interesting. Actively worked towards forging a vibrant learning space for students, not just within the classroom but outside if it, as well.

Served on the organising committee of various seminars, fests and other activities organised by the department.

She constantly strives to establish a dialogue between her own research and classroom teaching.

  • Served on the organising committee of UGC Sponsored International Seminar and workshop in collaboration with Trinity College London on “Innovative Teaching, Learning and Assessment in English: Harmonious Transition from School to University” , held in January 2020.

  • Served on the organising committee of Inter-college students’ seminar titled “speaking of Silence, Speaking from the Silence”, organised by the Department of English in March 2019.

• Presented a paper titled “Subversive Orality” at the 8th Asian Translation Traditions Conference held at SOAS, London in July 2017.
• Presented a paper titled “Peripheral Voices, Subversive Spaces” at American Folklore Society Congress at Baltimore, USA in October 2019. Received grants from the American Folklore Society to present my research at the conference.
• Presented a paper titled “Hear Them Sing”: Unearthing Women’s Voices in the Folk Singing Tradition of Haryana at the National Conference on Culture and Aesthetics in Indian Folklore organised by the Department of English, University of Delhi in February 2020.
  • Presented a paper titled “Emotional Economy of Migration: Women’s Perspectives on Male Outmigration in Folk Singing Tradition of Haryana.”at American Folklore Society Congress at in October 2021.

1) Recepient of Elli- Kongas Maranda Award, instituted by American Folklore Society, in recognition of superior research work on women’s traditional, vernacular, or local culture and/or feminist theory and folklore.

2) Received many awards and scholarship at undergraduate and postgraduate level for academic achievements in BA(hons.) English and MA English.
